Method and limits
How the table was built
- 2009–2016: the Department of Revenue workbook “Receipts From Third Party Purchasers, Tax Sales of 2009–2016 Certificates”, one sheet per year (source).
- 2017–2022: the Department’s “2017–2022 Delinquent Tax Sale Results, all counties” workbook (source). Sale dates come from that workbook where it gives them.
- Columns are copied as published: bills purchased, sheriff, county attorney and clerk fees, and the total paid by purchasers. We did not adjust for inflation.
- The sheet labelled “2017” has a title that refers to 2016 certificates. We kept the Department’s sheet label and recorded the title in the
certificate_tax_year_per_titlecolumn, so 2016 may appear twice in different senses. - The 2022 sheet gives a statewide dollar total but no statewide bill count, so that cell is 0 in the CSV.
- Neighbouring counties: Allen, Barren, Butler, Edmonson, Logan and Simpson. Downloaded October 14, 2026.
